As everyone wants to get your attention on their content. And people tend to get carried away most of the time. To the point you even forget the reason you were searching for something.

How I have been able to stay focused
1. Find yourself a quiet place. Allocate your time deliberately. As for me, my quiet place and time is usually in the mornings. At about 3-5am. Where there is total silence and my brains thought process works best. There is no distraction from the noise of neighbours and environ. People are asleep.
And I get to do my research and most creative works, thinking for my business and optimal focus is being achieved. Your own quiet spot can be away from office. Or even at night when the kids are gone to bed. As long as you find the spot and time that works for you.
2. Sharpen your brain like a muscle. To stay focused is like a skill set. You have to get accustomed to it over time. As it takes the average person 6 hours per week to stay focused. It is like exercising as it promotes brain health, which in turn is necessary for memory capacity and concentration, according to John Ratey, associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
Ensure you switch off other applications and avoid multi-tasking. So you can accustom yourself to concentrate on that one thing. To get the best out of it for the short period of time, you put into it. It is like when you go to the gym. You want to train your body to acquire the body type you want. So you give it maximum training. Over a sustained period of time.
